(Photo by Richard Volesky) On Sunday, Judy and Terry Mollendor planned a little get: together for their daughter, Marsha Davison's 30th birthday, at Happy Joe's Pizza in Dickinson. Among those who surprised Marsha were her sister and family, Mellisa and Lane Lowman, Jason, Christopher, Tristen, Jeccica and Justin Fjellanger, friend Justin Bemis, and Jane Cook. Don and Rella Abernethy received word that their grand- daughter and husband, Jen and Russ Smith, became the proud parents of Dee. 15, 1960: Bank's Open House is Saturday Farmers and Merchants Bank personnel in Beach have arrange- ments completed for their llth annual open house and Christmas party to be held this Saturday, Dec. 17. This affair also marks the bank's 53rd year in business in Beach. Throngs of people are expected to register there for the festivities at the bank, and the many valuable prizes which will be awarded, a baby girl on Monday, Dec. 6. Jim and Marj Wyckoff drove to Wibaux on Tuesday to help Marj's sister, Fern Bacon, celebrate her birthday at the Palace Caf6. Other family members included Jean and Mick Nistler. Ron Burman, Marvin Burman, Tom, Lynn and Kaitlynn Wyckoff from Dickinson, Lisa Tousignant, and Carla Delp. Afterwards, Jim and Marj, and Tom, Lynn and Kaitlynn stopped in at the Wibaux nursing home to visit with Jim Bacon. including four adult prizes of $25 each, and attractive and useful gifts to ever)one who comes in and reg- isters. It will also be an extraordinarily good day for Christmas shopping, as Beach merchants have cooperat- ed, by advertising scores of gift items, many of them at sharp reduc- tions in price, for this day. Sentinels bow to South Heart In a game with excessive foul- ing, South Heart defeated Sentinel Butte 41-33 last Friday, South Rick Olson has been delivering mail for the Darin Maus route this past week. Jane Cook attended the caroling at the Golden Valley Manor on Thursday afternoon. Afterwards, members of the American Legion Auxiliary remained to hold their monthly meeting. Don't forget to come to the annu- al Christmas Open House on Sunday, Dec. 19 at Olson's Service Station. The meal will be from 2 p.m. until whenever. Heart's basketball season opener. Jim Lowman led Sentinel Butte's scoring with 10 points. Both of the teams tallied an equal number of field goals, the difference coming at the free throw lane with South Heart shooting 68 percent to the Sentinels' 55 percent. Firemen to hold dance - The 48th annual Sentinel Butte Firemen's Ball will be held in Sentinel Butte at the town hall on Friday, Dec. 30. Music will be fur- nished by the Starlighters. It's been cold outside, but it sure is nice and cozy here. The Christmas decorations are up and it is certainly cheerful. Thursday morning included Mass follov~ed by exercises. We took the bus downtown to do our shopping. We had a surprise visit from "Tom & Radie" What beautiful music they entertained us with; some music from our childhood, some hymns and then some great Christmas songs. Patrick, Daniel, Christian and Brianne Docktor came for a visit with a therapy dog. - Friday morning, Gloria, Marlene and Lorna did our hair. We had cof- fee in the afternoon and played cards. Devotions were led by Pastor J.T. Saturday morning exercises were led by Eileen Buchholz. Sunday morning we had com- munion in the chapel, games and cards in the afternoon and communi- ty church was in the evening. Mary Job's daughter, Lori, from Farmifigton, visited her for a few days. 4 Monday morhing Bible study was led by Becky Weinreis. Her mother, Eunice, from Africa, was with her. They visited several people at the Manor. We did our exercises on Tuesday morning and adoration was in the chapel about 10:30. St. Paul's Church members cameto play bingo with us and brought great prizes and a delicious lunch. Devotions were led by Pastor Hojnacki, and Gloria Ueckert was the pianist. We had fun putting together four gingerbread houses in the afternoon- during craft time with Marlene and Bethine. They are the centerpieces for our tables. We have lots of company and would love it if you would sign the guest book at the front desk. Please tell us who you visited and also your name. It helps us report to the paper who gets company. We enjoy read-; ing about our guests in the paper.
