Thursdav. December 13~.193:-~ ~ W ~0 ~ ~ ~P @ ~_~ ~_~_~+~_~__W..~_P~ ~' HEAD OF FARM HOL DAYGROUP Delegates Refuse To Accept Resignation; Resolutions Condemn Relief Set-Up; Favor Frazier-Lemke Bill. Criticism of the relief set-ul~ in North Dakota because it is unsym- pathetic with the people and man- aged with "waste and extravagance" bulked large in the resolutions passed by the North Dakota Farm Holiday association during the con- cluding hours of their meeting on Tuesday afternoon in Bismarck. A committee held a long confer- once with E. A. Wlllson, ERA ad- ministrator, concerning phases of the relief work, asked for a new director in McHenry county and other changes. Acting Governor Ole H. Olson, nominal head of the relief, explained its worldngs to the group in a talk Tuesday afternoon. He stated that the control rested largely in the federal government, although the state was placed in charge and made responsible for the ac~tration, Usher L. Burdick's efforts to re- sign as president of the Holiday association met with persistent op- POSition on the part of the 350 del- egates assembled and he was unan- Imously re-elected for another year. Fifty counties were represented at ~he meeting. Because Burdick will be out of the state a great portion of the time the association named H.' R. Mor- gan, Walcott, as manager of the as- sociation and acting president when Burdick is OUt of the state. Among the resolutions passed was one favoring the Frazier-Lemke farm mortgage moratorium. AI~ favored was an old age pension plan ~not one supported by a sales tax as Is the Townsend plan), currency stabilization, cancellation of seed and feed loans, a flexible farm morator- ium which may be lifted upon oc- casion in order to save lengthy litig- ation, a three year moratorium on all debts, and immediate repeal of the national bank act and federal bank act GRAND CHAlVlP STEER BRINGS $3 A POUND C~hicago, Dee 1.~"Campus Idol," the grand champion steer of the 35th international livestock exposi- tion, was bought at auction for $3 a pound Thursday by the Kroger Gxocery and Baking Co. of Cincin- nati, O.
