News Notes of the
Golva Community
During Past Week
Miss Gladys Johnson has been
on the sick list the past week.
Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Shoen of
Golva were callers in Beach Thurs-
day of last week.
Harry Funk left Friday night for
the west coast, where he plans to
spend the winter.
Cpl. Merlin Brockmeyer left Fri-
day morning to return to his Army
camp in Massachusetts after spend-
ing the past week visiting here.
Tonie Barthel and Helen and
Leon~ Barthel were visitors in
Golva Friday afternoon of last
week.
Mrs. J. L. Tschida and Anita re-
turned home from Fargo Monday,
where they spent the Past week
visiting.
Mrs. Lewis Faschlng returned
home Thursday evening from Dick-
• nson, where she had spent a few
• days visiting.
K. J. Higgins and Harvey, and
and Mary Kremers made a
trip to Glendlve on business Fri-
day of the past week.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schouboe
were callers in Beach Wednesday
afternoon of the past week.
Many of the folks of this com-
mtmity attended the card party in
Carlyle Friday evening. All re-
ported having a good time.
Plan now to attend the Junior
~lass play, "Corporal Jeep" at the
Beach High School Auditorium on
Friday evening, December 10th.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Fischer and
Loretta made a trip to Hettinger
• on Sunday of last week, taking
Florence back to her school there.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Schilio, Mrs.
Lewis Fasching and Mrs. Margaret
Schwagel made a trip to Dickinson
on business Wednesday of last
week.
Mrs. Catherine Lorenz returned
home Thursday night from Min-
nesota, where she has been visiting
friends and relatives the past few

Mrs. Avis Kautzmann and Miss
Viola Mogle have moved into the
Sheen building in Golva, where
they will spend the winter months
while teaching school at Golva.
The Golva girls and boys' bas-
ketball teams made a trip to Wi-
baux Tuesday night. The Golva
girls won their game against the
~ibaux girls, but the Golva boys
lost.
Victor Bares, Joe Popel and
Frank Kreitinger Jr. made a trip
to Dickinson. where they were
called by the serious Illness of Mrs.
l~rank Bares.
Mrs. Haas, who has spent the
Past few months visiting with her
