The North Dakota board in May, 193"/ ordered railroads to reduce their rates on grain, grain prpducts and seeds in interstate traffic and provided rules and ,transit privileges to apply in con- nectlon, said Ben C. Larkin, president of the board. "It is those rates," Larkln dezlared, *'together with the board's refusal in June of this year to permit railroads to hike their rates on agricultural products 5 percent, that the carriers claim prejudicial." He explained Jurisdiction would tae removed from the sta~ board and placed with the ICC if that body con. ducts the investigation requested and finds existing intrastate rates unlaw- fully discriminatory, prescribing in- [reases. Larktn has wired the ICC in Wash- ington, D. C., denying present rates~ are in any respect dlscrimiating or pre. ] JUdicial of interstate commerce.
