Monitoring Plan. A request for funding
from Golden Valley County Pheasants
Forever was read. Stockwell moved to
donate $222.17 from the Community
Enhancement Fund, second by

ried. An Application for Property Tax

was reviewed. Benes moved to

• Letter from Mike Zier was read
regarding teachers having to find their
own substitutes. This issue has been
resolved and therefore no public par-
ticipation will be necessary.

• Contracts for Kelly Peterson as
junior high girl's volleyball coach.
Carla Steffen as co-junior class
advisor, Lisa Baertsch as co-junior
class advisor and Gene Skogiund as
head cross country coach were pre-
sented.
Discussion. Motion by Schafer,
second by Nunberg to approve con-
tracts.
Roll call vote carries unanimously.
Discussion. Interest in cheerleading
and a cheerleading advisor was dis-
cussed. Gaugler indicated there has
not been an interest in cheerleading
this year. Discussion.
• Two teachers have made lane
changes by receiving additional edu-
cation over the past school year and
summer. Discussion.
• Misty Farnstrom will be entitled to
maternity leave in the future.
Options for assistance in the busi-
ness office were discussed.
Helvik presented the ARRA
Education Stabilization Funding
Application.
Discussion. Motion by Hardy, sec-
ond by Nunberg to approve applica-
tion.
Roll call vote carries unanimously.
Helvik presented mill levy options
for the 2009-2010 school year.
Increasing the mill levy may pro-
vide additional funding options for the
district. Discussion.
Board self evaluation was distrib-
uted and reviewed. Discussion.
Hetvik presented policy.
• Policy IEAE-School Bus Idling
was reviewed. Discussion. Grant for
purchasing a school bus was dis-
cussed. Motion by Hardy, second by
Schafer to approve policy IEAE-
School Bus Idling as an administrative
policy.
Roll call vote carries unanimously.
• The project of reviewing the
Beach School District Policy Manual
for updates, changes, removals and
additions was discussed.
Farnstrom presented business
manager report.
• The maintenance contracts on the
two library copiers have not been
renewed. A quote from Advanced
Business Methods was reviewed for
future options. Discussion.
Lonnberg presented day treatment
report.
Wegner presented elementary prin-
cipal report.
Gaugler presented high school
principal report.
• Organizations that will be operat-
ing the concession stand this year
were discussed.
• Activity bus driver wages were
discussed. Motion by Schafer, second
by Hardy to approve raising wages
from .24¢ to .25¢ per mile, from $9.25
to $9.75 per hour down time, and from
$25 to $30 for washing the bus.
Discussion. Hardy retracted his
second and Schafer retracted his
motion.

bills. Motion carried unanimously.
"Second reading and approval of
School District Policy DAFDA amend-
ment. M/S Krebs/Ebert to approve the
second reading and approval of Policy
DAFDA to change sub pay to $95.00
per day.. Motion carried unanimous-
ly.
Discussion was held on coaches'
travel. It was consensus of the board
to allow a $250 stipend per sport to be
split by the decision on the athletic
director among coaches for travel.
It is the consensus of the board that
the superintendent to research and
purchase a cover for the gym floor.
Activity bus driver pay was dis-
cussed. M/S Krebs/Ebert to increase
activity bus driver pay to $50 plus $.55
per mile over $100. with a minimum of
$50 plus a $10 waiting time stipend.
Coaches are not paid for waiting time.
This excludes driving to and from prac-
tices. Motion carried Unanimously.
Roof repair proposals were dis-
cussed. Decision was postponed at
this time ;due to a need for more infor-
mation. A special meeting will be
called to make this decision.
Football coop with New England
School was discussed. The superin-
tendent will visit with New Engtand
School's administration to see if they
are interested in cooping with the
Heart River football coop.

AMENDED NOTICE
OF INTENT TO ADOPT
ADMINISTRATIVE RULE
relating to Water Quality Standards.
Please take notice that the
North Dakota
Department of
Health
has extended the penod for submitting
public comment until November 6, 2009,
on the proposed adoption of a rule to
the Staodards of Quality for Waters of
the State, N.D. Admin. Code ch. 33-16-
02.1. The rule will change the maximum
level of sulfate from 450 to 750
milligrams per liter in the segment of the
Sheyenne River that runs from its
headwaters to 0.1 mile downstream of
the Baldhill Dam, including Lake
Ashtabula.
A copy of the proposed rule is available
on the department's website at
www.ndhealth.gov or a copy may be
obtained by calling the department at
(701) 328-5210. Written comments may
be submitted to ND Dept. of Health, 918
E. Divide Ave., Bismarck, ND 58501-
1947.
