GOLVA
Miss Marguerite Schouboe of Tacoma,
Wash., who has been visiting relatives
here returned to her home Thursday
evening.
Joseph Platz and son Joe, Henry
Platz and Leo Raider of Springfield,
Minn., relatives of the Fischer family
came Tuesday to attend the funeral
of their uncle Joseph Fischer. They
returned to their home Thursday.
Mrs. P. Weinreis and daughters en-
tertained Mrs. Strohmeyer and daugh-
ters, Mary, Amelia, Eilzbeth and Agnes
Strohmyer if gallipoli, Mont., to Sun-
day dinner.
Miss Isabel Lorenz who spent a
month hre visiting home folks re-
turned to Tacoma Thursday.
The Catholic ladies sewing circle
was held in the church basement on
Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Madison entertained the bridge
club Thursday afternoon. Refresh-
ments were served and a jolly time
reported.
Robert Menke was home Sunday ev-
ening, returning to Beach Monday.
Mrs. James White entertained the
birthday club at her home this week
and a lively time was reported. A find
luncheeon was also enjoyed.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Becker, Mrs
Ed Becker and sisters Elizabeth and
Agnes Strohmeyer of Kalispell, Mon-
tana, are visiting relatives and friends
at Golva.
Mr. and Mrs. Vanvig were Beach
shoppers Saturday.
Ed Fischer and family and Mrs. W.
W. Page were Beach callers Sunday.
Miss Christine Schrom spent the
weekend at home, returning to Dick-
insert Sunday.
Miss Marcella Fischer and cousin
Adeltne came here from Dickinson to
attend the funeral of their grand-
father last Wednesday.
The many friends of Ralph Jacobs
were certainly pleased to hear that he
was able to return home from the hos-
pital Monday. Ralph has been a pa-
tient there a month.
A large crew Of men are busy at
the airport and the weather is most
favorable.
Miss Irene Moon spent Wednesday in
Beach.
Mrs. John Schafer and daughter
Shirley were B~ch visitors S~tur-
clay.
Mrs. Christ Johnson visited Beach
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Thee Maanum spent
Sunday at Beach as guests of their
8on-in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Vic Thompson.
Gee Askin and his men of Baker
are drilling a well for the school.
Many old timers and friends enjoyed
the letter in last weeks paper from
George Christensen who now resides in
Florida.
Mrs. Ed Nistler and children were
the guests of home folks Sunday.
Mrs. Allan Chaffee and little daugh-
ter have returned home from the
Glendive hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. George Hammond were
Sunda dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Bert Covert.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Drewniak took
a saddle horse belonging to Mrs. Vera
Haigh in a trailer to Medora Men-!
day.
Mr. and Mrs. Gee. Wosepka were
guests at the Harry Funk home Sun-
day.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Cowles and
son Jerome of Molette, So. Dak., arriv-
ed Tuesday for a short visit with Mrs.
Cowles brother, George Gearey and
family. They left the latter part of
the week for Couer d' Alene, Idaho,
to make a new home.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas Woodsend of
South Valley, having disposed of their
property, will move to Beach this week
!to live.
Mr. and Mrs. George Hammond, Mr.
and Mrs. Alfred Scheffer were six
o'clock dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Bert Covert Sunday.

the Board of County Commissioners
of Golden Valley county. North Da-
kota, will receive bids for the furn-
ishing of lignite coal for the Coun:y
Court house and for relief clients
in Beach and Sentinel Butte, North
Dakota. Said lignite coal must be
free from dirt, mineral and slack
and properly screened and to be
delivered in such quantities and at
such time as coal is required for
the use in said Court House or for
delivery to relief clients during the
liscal year to end Juqe 3Oth, 1939.
Sealed bids will be:received up to
the hour of 3:00 o'clock P. M. on
October 7th 1938, anal may be lett
with the County Abditor at the

the Missionary Society will serve a
luncheon at the Parish House for the
delegates to the CongTegational Associ-
ation meeting, others are also invited•
The Senior Christian Endeavor will
hold a Tea Social in the Parish House
on Monday evening, October 3rd.
The Brotherhood fried chicken din-
ner was a success; over 75 people were
served during the evening.
