home at Kendall, Wisconsin, to visit

ARMS REGISTRATION
SET FOR SEPT 24Tier
All firearms owned by North Da-
kota residents on July 26, 1934 must
be registered with faderal author-
ities before September 24, under the
provisions of the National firearms
act, H, H. Perry, internal revenue
collector for North Dakota, warns
the. folks.
The firearms must be re~
by the individual possessing them
on that date whether they are grill
in his possession or not, Perry rules,
Blanks for registration may be ob-
tained either from the Fargo office}
or from local authorities.
Violation of the act is punishable
bY a fine of $2,000 or imprisonment
for a period of five years or both, he*
points out,
Defining a firearm as distinguish-
ed by the l~w, Perry pointed out that
it is any shotgun or rifle or other
weapon firing by an explosion ~iat
has a barrel less than 19 inches long
or may be concealed about the per-
son of the owner. Pistols or revol-
vers are exempt from this law.
