The Garden club held a meeting at the court house last Thursday; eve- l~ing. Glendive visitors Friday included Mr. and Mrs. Ben Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Qoodwin Thompson, Douglas and Don- ald Evans, Mr. and Mrs. I~ndal Thompson, Miss Dolly Gas, Mrs. Min- l~ie Smith, Mrs. Nettie Heath, and Miss Lillian Sherman. Young Jimmy Doerner, who broke his leg last winter and has been in a wheel chair and on crutches almost continually, last Friday was able to Walk alone, and the young man cer- tainly feels a lot better now. Lonard Black started work at the ~Utte Drug store in Sentinel Butte, beginning last Friday. Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Harold BaXith went to Fargo to spend a few flays visiting relatives and friends and tO take in the fair there. Friday Glendon Carlson returned home from his work which has taken him all around the state in the past /ew months. He intends to visit here about a week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. New apartments are being built over the aFrmers & Merchants Bank at present. Dick Schroeder was troubled with tonsilitis Tuesday of this week. Pete McCabe of Dickinson was a Beach business visitor Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Mrs. Arrnentrout and daughter Jean of Wlbaux were in tOWn shopping Tuesday. II i The Beach Homemakers will meet with Mrs. Howard Wenberg next Tuesday, September 13th, at the Ed Kowalewski home in Beach. Mrs. J. O. Ramstad will be hostess to the L. D. R. at her home next Tuesday evening, September 13"th Tuesday afternoon Social Hour met at the home of Mrs. E. F. Cook. Monday Miss Frances Zeilsdorf, who is employed in the county agent's office, began her vacation. Rev. P,~bert Jongeward, Miss M. Mot- sLss, Mrs. S. R. Bryant and Mr. Wick- ham drove to Glendive Monday. Monday E. M. Enderle and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Smith and son Donald drove to Fort Peck for the day. O. A. Olive of Cartwright, N. D., an uncle to Mrs. S. R. Bryant, spent a few days here the past week, returning to his home Tuesday Tuesday John Wicka went to B-'B'~- field for a couple of days, Hector Cameron began work at the Red Owl store last Saturday. ThUrsday Mrs. Guerdon Alguire went to Dickinson where she will visit her mother a few days. Clarence Knezevich is now employed in the county agent's office. Mrs. J. P. Sorensen returned Friday from a trip to Helena and Missoula. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stockwell and family returned from the Black Hills Saturday after a week's vacation. Regular meetings of the local Mas- onic lodge were resumed Tuesday night after having been a~journ~d for the summer months. Dessert bridge club met at Mrs. E. F. Cook's last Thursday afternoon. A shower honoring Mrs. Marvin Tobias was held and a handkerchief shower for Irene Hudson were highlights of the gathering. Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Robert A1- guire left for Bellingham, Washington, where they intend to spend the wint- er. The Methodist ladies aid are making plans for their annual chicken pie supper to be held on October 6th this year. according to present plans. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Kukowski are the parents of a baby boy, born to them Saturday morning at the Willis Wallace home. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Still, gccompan- ied by Shirley Woodhull and three of the Sites children, left Thursday for Bellingham, Washington.
