Seed Supplies of All Kinds
" Are Being Gathered At
Central Points; Restrictions
On Acreage Modified.
Washington, Aug. 3.---A three-fold
program for aiding drought strick-
en farmers in 1935---including pur-
" chase of seed stocks at once to as-
sure a supply next year--wa~ an-
nounced Thursday by the agricul-
~!~ rural adjustment administration.
i:ii~ Besides making certain a supply
of seed, the administration arrang-
ed for further modifications of re-
strlctto~_s on contracted acreage to
~errnit their fuller use ~or seed and
feed. and special freight rar~s for
feed and livestock shipments for
drought areas were extended for a
month.
The administration also announc-
ed t lie addition of 26 counties in
six states to the emergency drought
area and four counties to the secon-

The government seed purchase

reaus of agricultural economics and
plant industry and the extension
service, has already started, with
funds being made available from th~

Accidentally Cut Cheek and
Eye With Paring Knife;
Sight Is Lost; May Lose
Eye Too.
Neff. the litttle four-year-old son
of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Koshney, hurt
himself terribly with a kitchen par-
ing knife Tuesday forenoon. The
little fellow was playing with a
piece of string and. before anyone
could stop hhn, had reached on top
of the kitchen table and taken the
knife to cut it with. The sweep of
the knife was too f~r through the
string, landing in the right-~ cheek
and eye.
He was rusl~d to medical atten-
tion and then taken to the Bismarck
hospttal'by his parents. Neff was
operated on there by Dr. Const~n~
Wednesday morning and while all
possible is being done, little hope is
held" out of sR~-ing t~e eye. In any
case Neff will never see from that
eye. ag~.in. He was getting along
nicely, up to last night,

Yesterday was a great change

"flats" on his car and no lights.

in the dark. No mechanic to be

Mrs H. Kettner, Sr. underwent
an operation Tuesday morning at
Bismarck. All hope for a speedy
recovery.
