July 30, 2009 • A We have been very busy getting ready for the Centennial Celebration - making plans for our "Chicken BBQ on July 30th from 5- ,7 p.m. here at the Manor, working on float plans for the parade and getting the entire building ready for our Hospitality Room on July 31 st and August 1st from 2-4:00 p.m. Lots of fun activities are going on. On Thursday we had Mass, then did our exercises. We went shop- ping downtown and to our appoint- ments. In the afternoon we watched the movie "New in Town" and had popcorn and treats. Friday Gloria and Marlene did our hair. Roger Meidinger and Pearl Dlstad celebrated birthdays. In the afternoon we had coffee in the din- ingroom and played games. In the :evening we had devotions and music ]n the Chapel with Ruthann Zielsdorf. 'Merlin Goude from Wabesso. Minnesota visited Bill Johnson• Saturday morning we did our exercises led by Loretta Wyckoff. Matt and Marilyn Kaiser from Dickinson visited Eleanor Kuch. We played our usual board games in the diningroom and had coffee. Frances Kress spent time with Marie Holtar. Agnes Schmeling came to the party for Bill Johnson and visited many of her friends here. Joe and Mary Job celebrated their anniversarY. Sunday we had Word and Communion and played games and cards and had coffee in the after- noon. Don Tescher from Sheridan, Wyoming spent the day with his mother Lorraine Tescher. Nancy Schafer and Charlotte Langerud went-to Medora-.on Sunday for lunch and enjoyed the day together. On Monday we had Resident Council and played Bingo with St. Mary's Church in the afternoon. Tiny Brindtey from Belle Fouche, SD visited Eileen Buchholz. Tuesday started with exercises followed by Adoration. We took the bus to Medora in the afternoon for ice cream. It was a beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy the flowers and sunshine. Devotions were led by Pastor Hjonacki and he played the piano for the hymns. Wednesday the Manor Makers finished the jewelry they started last week. Rob Dobrowski was up to install the beautiful oak recognition board that he made for the Manor Foundation. It adorns the north wall in our front lobby area and what a beautiful way to recognize all of you folks that have given so gener- ously tO the Manor! Remember to cdme to the Manor for some great food and entertainment on Thursday, July 30th from 5-7 and there still are plenty of tickets left for the raffle! Fur Harvester Class Scheduled in The North Dakota Cooperative :Fur Harvester Education program is "sponsoring a fur harvester education "class in Bismarck for anyone interest- ed in trapping or hunting furbewers. The free 16-hour course is set for w :Aug. tl (5:30-9:30 p.m.), 13 (5:30- :9:30 p.m.) and 15 (8 a.m.-5 p.m.) at the Game and Fish Department in ,'Bismarck. Bismarck During the two evening sessions students will learn about traps, trap- ping and snaring techniques, furbear- el" biology and fur care. Aug. 15 is a field day during which students will make a vm'iety of land. water and snare sets.
