Mr. and Mrs. Roddy Kimball wonder if it's just due to heavy rain? I believe lt's due to more than that in this county. I believe it's due to having our voting pre- cincts consolidated. We don't know who is to blame for consolidating the precincts, but we hope whoever it is, will take notice and let every- one vote at their old voting booth this fall. Then. even if it does storm, people will have a chance co vote without riding horseback 13 miles. Rain and consolidated precincts aren't the only reason, either. Indifference, I believe, is the biggest reason of them all. In- difference toward politics, a shrug , of the shoulders and a "Oh, what does my one vote count for?" O. K., there are 2200 voting pre- cincts in the state. Just one shrug of the shoulder and a vote not cast ~in each of those 2290 precincts can make a whale of a difference in a state election. Nye leads Stam- baugh by a mere 200 votes. How do you 200 Stambaugh backers who shrugged your shoulders and said "Oh, my one vote won't be missed" feel now? Kind of cheap, don't you? "Oh. we'd have had to plow mud, we'd have had to walk in the rain." O. K., why not plow not walk in that r discussion at the capital, with f amazlng agreements that a lot of !our old-timers who believe them- selves "indispensable" should be replaced by. younger men. N0w~ we're off again. The best obtainable information indicates that the chance of winning the coming election about even--50-50-- between the two old parties. ~V FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH O. L.
