Visitation was held from 3-5 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. on Monday June 9, at the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Beach. A Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, at the United Community Church in Beach with Pastor Warren Maxted officiating. Interment was held in the Wibaux Cemetery in Wibaux, Mont. Silvemale-Silha Fu- neral Home of Beach was entrusted with local arrangements. Lu was bom on Dec. 26, 1936, in Grand Forks. A daughter of Lewis and Anna Ewalt, she was the third oldest of 13 children. From a young age she enjoyed cooking and babysitting. While living in Wibaux, she married Dale Duane Wyckoff on May 1, 1954. Together they raised three children. On Dec. 26, 1990, Lu married Harry "Red" Hayden, and together they made their home in Belgrade. While in Belgrade, Lu continued her passion for cooking as she worked in catering and enjoyed baking cakes for weddings and birthdays with her good friend Frani Booth. But her greatest love of all was taking care of her husband and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchil- dren. Lu also cherished her many nieces and nephews, and Red's chil- dren, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. Grateful for having shared her life are her three children and daugh- ter-in-law, Bob and Joyce Wyckoff of Mandan, Jeff Wyckoff of Hunt- ley; and Debbie Bevington of Bel- grade; seven grandchildren, Kristy, Brandon, Cody, Kelly, Doug, Michelle, and Kayla; six great- grandchildren, Brianna, Dylan, Ed- ward, Faith, Zoe, and Declan; and nine siblings, Dale, Jimmy, Jerry, Daniel, Bea, Clarce, Judy, Ike, and Connie. Lu was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Anna Ewalt; her brothers Danny, Leo, and Arlin; her husband Red; and her granddaugh- ter Cammie. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed. Wallace Erickson CANADIAN, Texas - Graveside service for Wallace Erickson, 68, of Canadian, Texas, will be at 10 a.m., Friday, June 20,2014, at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Bo Rankin officiating. Inurnment will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian. Wallace passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, in Canadian. Wallace was born Dec. 27, 1945, in Bak:Mont., to the late Mr. Roy Ericksowand Mrs. Tillie (Hoffman) Erickson. He was a 1964 graduate of Rhame High School. Wallace kvas a veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam stationed in Germany. He married Bonnie Bagley on Feb. 7, 1970, in Marmarth. They moved to Canadian in 1991 from Beach. Wal- lace worked for Butch's Backhoe and was a pumper. He also drove trucks and loved to fish, hunt and spend time with his family and friends. He was a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by his son, Ken- neth John "K.J." Erickson in 2001, His brother, Arnold Erickson and his brother-in-law, Gene Domagala. He is survived by his wife, Bon- nie Erickson of Canadian; his daugh- ter, Kellie Jo Reeves and husband Brandon of Canadian; his brother, Rick Erickson and wife Crystal of Rhame; his sister, Darlene Domagala of Baker; his sister-in-law, Garnee Erickson of Baker; five grandchil- dren, Summer Dawn Kirkhart, Joseph Keeneth Kirkhart, Destinee / / Marie Kirkhart, Brooke Royale Reeves and Benjamin Jake Reeves. Marjorie Helen Mosser BEACH - Marjorie Helen Mosser, 84, died Friday, June 6, 2014, at her home in Beach, sur- rounded by her loving family. Visitation was held from 1-5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at the Sil- vernale-Silha Funeral Home in Beach. A Family and Friends Serv- ice was held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, at the First Lutheran Church in Beach with the Rev. Roger Diert- erie officiating. A Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 13, at the First Lutheran Church in Beach with the Rev. Roger Dieterle officiating. Interment was held in the Medora Cemetery in Medora follow- ing the luncheon at the church. Sil- vernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach was entrusted with the arrangements. Marjorie was born on Oct. 26, 1929, in Beach to Knute K. and Elsie M. Farstveet, the fourth of 10 chil- dren. She attended school in Beach and graduated with the class of 1947 at Beach High School. She attended North Dakota State University at Fargo. She worked at Bublitz Jew- elry and the Milldrella Shop in Beach. She was married to Richard Mosser in 1949 at the original stone Lutheran Church in Beach. As new- lyweds, they moved to a ranch home 35 miles north of Medora along the Little Missouri River. The two-bed- room house was powered by a 32- volt power plant, which didn't run the washing machine. She heated water in copper tubs on the stove for baths and washing clothes. There was no indoor plumbing until 1960. In 1966 the Mossers added a ranch north of Beach. The children attended a one-room schoolhouse where Marge was sec- retary-treasurer of the Annear School District. She was also on the board of Pearl Township for many years. When the oldest children graduated from eighth grade, Marge moved to Beach so they could attend high school and commuted to the ranch on weekends. They built a home in Beach in 1973 where she resided since. She worked at the Farmers & Merchants Bank in Beach as a teller for 12 years. Marjorie was a member of the Thelen Homemakers Club where her grandmother, Marie Geyer, was a charter member. She belonged to the Cattlewomen and Cowbells of Medora; was First Lutheran Church Parish treasurer for more than 20 years, and a member of the church circles and WELCA. She was a faith- ful supporter of Badlands Ministries and helped head up the fund drive for the new camp facilities. She loved the Medora Musical and attended several times a season. The Burning Hills Singers visited her and sang at her bedside on June 5. She also loved trips, whether crossing the Little Missouri on sled, horseback or car or traveling with family to Norway on three occasions, to Germany and England with her daughter and Hawaii with her sister, Eleanore. She was an outstanding cook and baker. She hosted many family gath- erings at her ranch home along the Little Missouri River and in Beach. She was a gracious lady known for her kindness and generosity. She is survived by her husband of 64 ye .ars, Richard of Wibaux County Nursing Home; sons, Douglas (Rosie) Mosser of Beach; Randall (Sue) Mosser of Medora; daughters, Marilyn (Merle) Koon of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Jayne (Vernon) Harkins of Boul- der City, Nev.; seven grandchildren, Brandy Mosser, Naomi (Kit) Conn, Abby (Brett) Weiss, Mason and Michael Koon, Chandler and Bre- anne Harkins.; four great-grandchil- dren, Gunnar and Creighton Conn; and Braelin and Elsie Weiss; five brothers, Alvin (Margie) Farstveet, Beach; Ellef Farstveet, Aurora, Colo.; Gary (Margie) Farstveet, Beach; Rex (Myrna) Farstveet, Dick- inson; Craig Farstveet, Winnemucca, Nev.; one sister, Sharon Farstveet Dietz, Beach; two sisters-in-law Myrna Farstveet, Beach; Connie (John) Hollstein of Wibaux.,Mont.; one brother-in-law, Vernon Ward, Omaha, Neb.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles Weldon Gratton MEDORA - Charles Weldon Gratton, 72, of Midland, Texas, for- merly of Medora, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in'Mid- land. A Memorial Mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 11, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Medora with the Rev. Dan Berg offi- ciating. Rite of Committal followed in the Medora Cemetery in Medora. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach was entrusted with arrange- ments. Charles was born on Oct. 15, 1941, in Fargo, a son of Weldon and Marjorie (Neuens) Gratton. He spent his early years in Medora and was educated in many places includ- ing: Medora, Omaha, Neb.; Ken- tucky, Connecticut and Vernal, Utah. After finishing high school in Omaha, Charles graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. After college, Charles joined the United States Air Force, receiving his honorable discharge after serving four years in Germany. Charles worked all over the world, and for the past 20 years he worked for Daw- son Geophysical i.n Midland, Texas. After retirement, he made Midland his home until the time of his death. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Weldon and Marjorie Gratton and one brother, Robert Gratton. Charles is survived by numerous cousins, including Donald Neuens.
