last week visiting at the John
Brown and Ches. Allen homes,
enroute to Spokane, Wash.,
where they will make their home.
The Study Club members held

in the form of a get-together out-
ing party. They enjoyed a 6:00
o'clock chicken steak dinner at

which they gathered .at the

games of bridge with prizes going
to Mrs. Clara Wagner, Mrs. Alma

Mrs. Smith served a dessert lunch
after cards.
Mrs. Laurence Kirkpatrick en-

Picnics were very much in or-
der the past week, due to another

day the Golva schools held their
picnic at Evergreen Park near
Beach. On Thursday evening

W. Floyd Johnson of Fargo,
Rep. of White Cross Hospitaliza-

• The 1949 legislature passed an EXTR
two cent gas tax. This has been referred tc
a vote of the people at the Primary Election
Unless you vote NO on the LAST measure
on the ballot, this tax will go into effect.
• This means two cents more per gallon on
every gallon of gasoline you buy.
• Taxes are high enough. This is no time
to raise taxes. VOTE NO on the EXTRA two
cent 9osoline tax. It is the lost measure
on the ballot.
