YELLOWSTONE RIVER
COMPACT RATIFIED
The North Dakota legislature
has ratified the Yellowstone
river compact setting up a divis-
ion of water from that river be-
tween North Dakota, Montana
and Wyoming. The act has al-
ready been ratified by the other
two states.
Once before a compact was
agreed on for the dtvision of
Yellowstone water between the
~chree states. The governor of
Wyoming, ,however, vetoed the
bill when it was brought before
,him for his signature, which was
necessacy before it could be ap-
proved by congress before be-
coming effective.
The present compact has the
approval of all three governors.
WOMAN RECRUITER TO
BE IN DICKINSON
The W, ac-W,af recruiter, S/Sgt.
Avis L. barson, will be in Dick-
inson Friday afternoon, March
9th, and Saturday morning,
March 10th. She will be located
in the USA & USAF recruiting
station, post office building, and
will interview all girls interest-
ed in enlistment in the ~rmy or
air force. Girls coming in for
interview should bring their
birth certificate with them. Girls

Runyan memorial fund for use in
fighting cancer was awarded the
University medical school, Presi.

by Senator Milton Young.
The grant is for $5,000 and
will be used by Dr. Robect G.
Fischer, assi'~tant professor of
bacteriology, in conducting re.
search of production of cancerous
