'ON' SALE;, Edward Fasching Passes Away Sun- day In Dickinson The many friends throughout the valley were disappointed Sunday ~o learn that Edward John Faschin~;- had passed away at 1:30 p. m. at the DickinsJn lmspita] where he had been since Nov. 17 of last year. He had been ill for the past six years. Tile best of care was given him during his last days and no effort whatsoever was spared to aid and assist him in any manner possible. Funeral selwices are to be held this (Thursday) morning at St. Mary's church in Oolva with Father Lack in charge. Mr. Fasching--"Jack" to his count- less friends and neighbors---was one of the early settlers of the Golden Valley, coming to this county ~_n 1911. He was married On February 8, 1916, to Miss Rozina Stroh, and to this union five children were born. One child, Marie Ann, preceded him in death in 1935• In addition to his wife, three sons, Clarence, LeRoy and Michael, and one daughter, Marcella, survive him. Also surviving are five brothers and four sisters, Andrew, Frank, and Joseph of Winston, Minn.; Alfred and Lewis of Golva; Clara, Winnin3 Ski Jump / : : Eight Team Event Being Planned With Nice Prizes Arrangements are going ahead this week for an eight team tournament to be held in Beach the weekend of March 15, according to Sup't A. 1~. Miller and Coach Melvin Sevland, who are handling the arrangements with the tournament being sponsored through the Central States Basket ball Association. Teams are being contacted this week and it is hoped that everything can be rounded into shape before the first of the week. The first three place winners of the tourney will receive large trophies. while members of the team~ will also receive a five-inch basketball trophy and in addition 27 individual awards will be given to members of the ,~ three teams. From all indications this wlll"t~ one of the best tournaments ever held in the city.
