School Conference Room
The meeting was called to order by
Board President Dan Obrigewitch at
7:00 PM.
Present: Board Members Keith
Buckman, Wesley Krebs, and Terry
Johnson. Supt. Kurle, Elementary Prin.
Olson and Bus. Mgr. Anna Ross.
M/S T. Johnson/K. Buckman to ap-
prove the Dec 10, 2020 regular board
meeting minutes as presented. Motion
carried unanimously.
M/S K. Buckman/W. Krebs to ap-
prove the agenda as presented. Motion
carried unanimously.
The Elementary Principal Report:
1. Current Enrollment for 2020 21:
126 Students K 6
K — 18, 1st 16, 2nd — 18, 3rd 23,
4th 12, 5th 24, 6th 15, PK 20
2. Students enjoyed the movie. Had
several monetary donations to help
cover the cost. Very thankful to Lacy
and the movie theater for coordinating
the event,
3. A big thank you to the PTO for
supplying Santa bags for the students.
The staff stuff the sacks and delivered
the them to the classrooms while the
students were at the theater.
4. We are in the process of doing our
winter testing:
5. STAR Reading Math Mrs.
Cornell and Mrs. McDowell have been
administering these assessments to
quality students for the Title Math'and
Remedial Reading services.
6. Student Engagement Survey
Mrs. Corneil, Mrs. Kessel, and class-
room teachers will be administering
these surveys, online, next week. This
is a state mandated survey to fulfill
some ESSA requirements.
7. NWEA Mrs. Kessel, the class-
room teachers and will administer
these beginning January 25 February
4, grades K - 12.
8. Spelling Bee Ms. Gibson is con‘
ducting our local spelling bee for grades
5 8. Our championship round will be
on January 19. The state competition
has been canceled this year, but not the
national one. Ms. Gibson is not sure
what will happen with our local winner,
but she's looking into it. We both feel
our students deserve some local recog-
nition though.
9. Professional Development we
will need to continue our Pathways to
Reading training for the elementary
teachers and begin the North Dakota
Multi-tiered Support System (NDMTSS)
training, which will replace our Building
Level Support Teams (BLST) process
for identifying students who are strug-
gling acadgrgicallyggmptionalbl,gand/or
behaviorallyz—B‘cth trainings can be pro-
vided by RESP. "

The Secondary Principal Report:
1. Updated mid—year evaluation
forms for new teachers consistent K

2. NDCDE application Students
need to log-in on a regular basis. If a
student falls more than assignments
behind, they will be ineligible to partici-
pate in any extra/co-curricular activities.
Student/parents now reimburse the
school should the student either fail to
complete the course and or fail the
course. Any extension is paid for by the
student/parent. ~ We reserve the right to
refuse to enroll a student in a CDE
course.
3. Explore America update: From Mr.
McDowell: We canceled our Explore
America trip in March. We are looking
into a possible shorter, more local trip in
the ND, SD, MT area. If we decide to go
that route, we'll present it to the Board in
February. We are planning our next Ex-
plore America trip in Spring 2022. Cur-
rently enrolled juniors plan to go, and
several current sophomores are inter-
ested. We'll keep the board updated as
we go.
