Gus C. Tachenko'
GRASSY BUTTE - Funeral
Services for Gus C. Tachenko, 96,
of Grassy Butte will be held at tl
a.m.. Sunday. Feb. 13, 2011, at the
Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Grassy Butte, with Pastors Bill
Edwards and Ray Kelch officiat-
ing. Burial will follow in the
Seventh-Day Adventist Cemetery,
Grassy Butte.
Visitation for Gus will be from
3-7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12, at
Stevenson Funeral Home in
Killdeer.
Gus Tachenko was born Oct.
18. 1914, in Grassy Butte to Mike
and Rose (Sokirka) Tachenko. He
attended the Little Knife Butte
Country School.
On July 9, 1945, Gus married
Stayce Moseanko in Butte. N.D.
They lived on the M Lazy T Ranch
in western North Dakota near
Grassy Butte where they raised
their two children. Cody and
Shirley.
Ranching and family were life-
tong commitments. As a young
man, Gus and his brother, Sam,
were hired to measure the Billings
County fields and grain bins for
the Agricultural Stabilization and
Conservation Service (ASCS).
Community contributions were
provided in leadership while serv-
ing as a board member and presi-
dent of the Billings County School
Board and Medora Grazing
Association. Dedication to the
Grassy Butte Seventh-Day
Adventist Church and a sense of
contributing to family and commu-
nity were an important part of his
life.
Gus passed away Feb. 3. at the
Hilltop Home of Comfort in
Killdeer.
He is survived by his children,
Cody (Janell). Grassy Butte; and
Shirley Tachenko Achord. Lincoln,
Neb.: grandchildren Angi (Keith)
Howe, Belfield; and her children
Thomas, Sierra, and Christopher:
Bryan (Julie) Tachenko, Beach;
and their children Kyle and Caleb;
Mindy (Esley) Hendergon, Keene,
N.D.; and their children Taten and
Rahnie Grace; Samuel Achord,
London, U.K.; and John Achord,
Lincoln, Neb. He is also survived
by his sisters Leone Quast, Beach;
and Anne (Detmar) Holbrook,
Colton, Calif.; his brothers Lonny
(Estelle) of Dickinson; Steve
(Virginia) of Grassy Butte: Mike
(Marvella) of Avon Park, Fla.; sis-
ter-in-law Alma Tachenko of
Baker. Ore.: and numerous nieces
and nephews. He is preceded in
death bv his wife. Stavce: his par-
ents and his brothers, Joe and Matt
Tachenko: half brothers Nick
Tachenko. George, Andrew. Sam.
and Bill Sterling, and John Davis.

Burial for Jerry D. Page, 77. of
Belfield was held at 2 p.m.. Friday.
Jan. 28. 2011. al St. Bernard's
Catholic Church. Belfield. Burial will
take place later this spring in
Carrington. N.D.
Visitation for Jerry was held
Thursday, Jan. 27. from 12 p.m. to 8
p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home,
Dickinson. with a Rosary and Vigil
Service being held at 6 p.m.
Jerry passed away on Tuesday.
Jan. 25, at St. Benedict's Health
Center in Dickinson.
JerD' was born Nov. 21. 1933. in
Carrington, N.D.. the son of Hosea
Page and Minnie (Minnkle) Page. He
attended school in Carrington. Jerry
took care of the family farm as well as
drove truck for Teddy Clark. hauling
livestock and freight.
On Nov. 25. 1953. he married
Arlene Louise Bata in Kensal. N.D.
They resided in Carrington where
Jerry worked for a John Deere dealer.
He was later transferred to Belfield to'
work for John Deere until 1%8. He
then managed Jerry's Place in
Belfield. Jerry also drove truck for
Rock Island and worked for Stark
County and L.R Anderson. doing road
construction. He also worked for the
state of North Dakota for a number of
years. Jerry retired in 1994.
Jerry enjoyed hunting, pt'aying
cards, reading and spending time with
fanlily and friends.
0Jerl'y is survived by one son.
Gregory (Cindy) of Livingston,
Mont.; two daughters. Grayce
(Dennis) Keller of Moneta. Wyo.: and
Robin (Jeft) lverson of Belfield; five
grandchildren. Dana Page of

Loretta M. Schillo
ROCHESTER, Minn. - Loretta
M. Schillo, 77, of Rochester, died
Sunday. Feb. 6, 2011, at her resi-
dence.
Loretta Marie Fischer was born
on Aug. 29, 1933, in Beach, to
Edward and Thecla (Kempenich)
Fischer. She married her devoted
spouse Earl on May 12, 1962, in
Golva. They shared 49 years of
married life together.
A graduate of St. Alexius and
Carroll College, Loretta had a 40-
year nursing career in a variety of
positions, including floor nurse,
director of nursing, and hospice
nurse. She completed her career at
Blue Cross Blue Shield as a patient
care coordinator. She was known
for her caring and compassion in
both her professional and personal
life. She was passionately involved
in the lives of her children and
grandchildren. Loretta was active
in the Pax Christi Faith
Community. She was a committed
volunteer for several causes close
to her heart, an accomplished
cook, and an avid bridge player.
She will be missed dearly by her
family, friends and community.
Loretta is survived by her hus-
band, Earl of Rochester; four chil-
dren, Paul (Brenda) Schillo of
Wrenshall, Minn.; Barbara Schillo
(Martha Osterberg) of Maplewood,
Minn.: Bruce (Denise) Schillo of
Kasson. Minn.: and Kathleen
Schillo (Bradley Hauser) of
Excelsior. Minn.: six grandchil-
dren, Caleb Schillo. Christian
Schillo. Cory Schillo. Ellie Hauser.
Collin Hauser, and Savannah
Hauser: and one sister, Florence
Fischer of Mott. She is preceded
in death by her parents; two sisters:

A Memorial Mass was held
Wednesday, Feb. 9. at 2 p.m. at Pax
Christi Catholic Church. 4135 18th
Ave. NW, with the Rev. Joe Keefe
officiating. A visitation was held
Tuesday, Feb. 8. from 5-8 p.m. at
Ranffanz and Vine Funeral Homes
with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
and one hour prior to the Mass on
Wednesday at the church.
