Local Labor Club COMHI 10N[R$' PR0-
Passes Resolution
At the last regular meeting of the
Beach Labor club the following reso-
lution was passed:
~, in our county many
people, both farmers and laborers, by
no fault of their own, but mostly due
to several crop failures, are in abject
poverty. Some receive relief and as~t-
ance which in ~L multiple of cases Is not
SUbstantial, many being compelled to
live on allowances of~ leas than 10c
per day per person for prolonged per-I
lods without any other income what-1
ever, and con~-~quently their families1
are undernourished, underweight and
In poor health. Soap, adequate wear-
ing apparel, etc. become prohibitedI
lUxttrles. Life and health are Jmt asI
priceless to them as to any other hu-]
man beings and once lost cannot beI
regained. " J
TIIEIIEI~I~, Members and sympa-~

Dakota Labor Association at regular}
meeting assembled in the court home
at Beach, North Dakota Feb. 4, 1938i
hereby lnstdulct the execu~|ve commlt~e
to immediately petition the countyl
welfare board, city and village officialst
to provide without delay some work~
and substantial pay for needy families, 1
men and women and increase the al-
lowance of those' not able to work, so
that they, at least, can smtain their
health and thin also eliminate breed-
tug nests of disease hate and crime.
Work can be provid~l immediately by
any local projects or mprovements, but
longer range works are humbly recom-
mond~ to be dl~, towards conser-
at/on of water, which gives life sus-
taining moisture to vegetation and
helps the farmer to produce crops, give
the laboring men work and thereby
create sustenance for the whole com-
munity.
