The operations area will include the target area and a ten-mile exten- sion of the border in North Dakota counties for operations easement for cloud systems that will affect the tar- get area. No affect is intended for the areas bordering the target areas. The target area for District I will be Bowman County and the following townships in Slope County: Conner, Hume, Carrol, Cash, Sheets, Mineral Springs, and Cedar Creek. The target area for District tl will be McKenzie, Mountrail, Ward and Williams Counties. Operations will be conduct- ed June 1, 2012 through August 31, 2012, with the possibility of extension through October 2, 2012. The Board certified the district has complied with drug, alcohol and dis- crimination policies, and no discipli- nary sanctions had been applied. The motion carried unanimously. It was decided to schedule a work session for 5:00 PM Monday, April 23, to discuss policy, bussing and several other upcoming issues. The Board considered a request from a bus contractor for compensa- tion for '~vait time" on days when our schools dismiss early, and he has a time lapse between the elementary and high school runs. Baranko moved, Burian seconded to pay him $20 for each of the four occurrences. The motion carried with Rodne opposed. Downing moved to approve an open enrollment request for a student from Beach School District who recently moved there. Baranko sec- onded the motion and it carried unan- imously. The business manager reported the time for the negotiations supper had been changed from 5:00 to 5:30 PM on April 27. A letter of resignation from Technology Teacher Ruth Johnson was read. Rodne moved, Baranko seconded, to accept her resignation with much regret. The motion carried unanimously. A letter of resignation from Prairie Teacher Sharleen Stigen was read. Downing moved, Burian seconded, to accept her resignation with much regret. The motion carried unani- mously. Position openings created by res- ignations were discussed. Principal Soehren suggested tying the two day per week technology teacher position to the three day a week preschool position to make a full time job, which might be more apt to attract appli- cants. Downing and Baranko will be the Board's representative on the interview committee which wilt meet at Prairie School at 11:00 a.m. May 8th to conduct interviews. The Board discussed major items which will need to be included in the budget for next year, such as addi- tional swings for Medora and a stor- age building at Prairie. The business manager reported the zoning application in regard to the additional sidewalk at Medora will be considered at the April 17 meeting of the Medora Zoning Board. She also reported on-the Vision West ND plan- ning to be held April 19-20. Baranko will be the Board's repre- sentative to Belfield's April meeting.
